La transfiguración del color I

This was the title of an exhibition in 2019. It is also my little tribute to the Arab countries, mainly the Maghreb / al-Magrib, which means, "place where the sun sets." Infinite deserts, adobe buildings abandoned or destroyed by the passage of time. Shapes sculpted by the wind. Reds, ochres and yellow earths are the hues of the Arab world. The golden colour evokes the chromatic colour, that is, the pure gold of Africa.

Technical notes:
The main base, the reddish color, are several thick layers of synthetic primer made of grease and resin, which in turn are subjected to slow drying for several months. A mixture of yellows, ochres, reds and whites that are faded to reveal the ground silicon carbide mineral. The golds are a mixture of old gold and copper.
