Ven y contempla II

Although this was the title of an exhibition I did in 2016, I also wanted to highlight the unmistakable beauty of the South Island of New Zealand. Flying over Fjordland, where the white peaks cut by the fjords create inlets of water that flow into the ocean, was one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had in my life. I wanted to reflect on the splendor of The Southern Alps. New Zealand, beyond words.

Technical notes:
Embossed with several thick layers of synthetic grease and resin primer, which in turn was subjected to slow drying for several months. The different whites, blues, and reds make up this work, finished with a transparent spray-applied varnish.
